Whether you’re heading to the beach for a day of sunbathing, or out on the boat to fish, you can’t forget to pack a healthy lunch for your next adventure. Tuna salad is a quick and easy on-the-go option that Salt Life team members Alex Vandegrift and Amber Lewis love to make, eat, and share. It turns out our Salt Life fans also love making tuna salad, and we’ve got their fan-favorite recipe here too. These recipes aren’t just delicious, but they feature fresh ingredients and pack tons of flavor.

Alex’s Traditional Tuna Salad

Ingredients:

4 Cans of Tuna

1 Cup of Mayonnaise

1/3 Cup of Chopped Celery

2 Tablespoons of Chopped Red Onion

2 Tablespoons of Chopped Dill Pickles

1 Tablespoon of Chopped Parsley

1 Tablespoon of Minced Garlic

Salt & Pepper

It doesn’t get much easier than this. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except the salt and pepper. When everything is thoroughly mixed, add salt and pepper until you get the taste where you want it. Alex’s tuna salad recipe is perfect for sharing and can be eaten as is, or as a sandwich on wheat bread. For a low-carb option, try it served on a lettuce wrap and substitute the mayonnaise with greek yogurt.

In a medium bowl, mix the tuna and ripe avocado. Then, add in the celery, lemon juice, and olive oil. When those ingredients are well incorporated, add salt and pepper to taste. Lastly, garnish with parsley and enjoy! Amber recommends enjoying her avocado tuna salad as a sandwich or with crackers.
