Mar 22, 2021
Cabo San Lucas is a must-visit destination that has something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you are looking for beautiful beaches, fantastic food, or a day full of fishing - you can find it in this Mexican paradise.
Beaches, the ocean, and seafood? It sounds exactly like the kind of place that members of the Salt Life team would frequent. Keep reading for first-hand recommendations of Cabo's most essential places from the people who know it best.
Where to Eat & Drink
Cabo is renowned for the freshest seafood you can find. This travel destination is full of restaurants that offer fresh seafood and delicious drinks with fantastic ocean views. Does it get any better than that?
It certainly does not get much fresher than sushi. Nicksan comes highly recommended by members of the Salt Life team for their outstanding sushi and sashimi offerings. Another great sushi place is Monta, which is located in The Cape Hotel. This restaurant has a sushi platter on the menu that is beautiful, creative, and delicious, the perfect combination.
The Office on the Beach is a restaurant located right on the beach in Cabo. It is the perfect place to enjoy a Mexican sunset while sipping on Tequila cocktails made from their huge Tequila selection.
You cannot go wrong adding any of these places to your itinerary either - Solomon’s Landing, La Chatita, or Edith’s. Looking for gluten-free options? Consider Flora Farms.
What You Can Catch
Cabo San Lucas is a hugely popular fishing destination for a reason - well, many reasons. The waters off Cabo are full of exotic fish that are just waiting to be caught. Our Salt Lifers have been lucky enough to catch a wide array of fish in Cabo, including yellowfin tuna, striped marlin, roosterfish, crevalle jack, mahi-mahi, blue marlin, black marlin, makos, and striped marlin.
Best Beaches Grab your sunscreen and take advantage of the gorgeous beaches in Cabo. Lovers Beach is the most popular beach in the area, but there are plenty of others to explore. Our team members visited and recommended checking out beaches at Ranch San Cristobal, Zippers, and the East Cape.
There is no shortage of fun activities for any age in Cabo. Individuals and families alike can enjoy outdoor fun that ranges from relaxing to exhilarating. Of course, you can go fishing while you are in Cabo but you can also take a sunset cruise, go whale watching, or snorkel. Are you a thrill-seeker? Consider planning a day touring the desert terrain on four-wheelers, surfing, or parasailing. If you love animals, Cabo offers camel rides on the beach and swimming with sea lions.
Fishing & Friends
When we asked our Salt Life team members for their favorite part of their trips to Cabo, the answers were strikingly similar. They all loved fishing in Cabo. Amanda Gilbert shared with us that she had an incredible time marlin fishing, “we sight cast for surfacing striped marlin. Once hooked, these fish take you on an aerial joy ride! They jump and run around like crazy before safely tagging and releasing them.”
Experiencing Cabo with friends and family was another common favorite element of their trips. Adventuring with loved ones makes any meal, excursion, or day at the beach so much better. We cannot think of a better way to sum up Cabo than this quote from Captain Don, “you go there once, you'll be there twice.”
