Get your Salt Life Stickers – But Make Sure They’re the Real Thing

Salt Life stickers are everywhere! They’re among our best sellers and they grace bumpers, windows and surf boards nationwide. For that, we’re thankful to our loyal customer base. And we’re proud. But we’re also protective. If you’ve read today’s Florida Times Union article on Salt Life, you know why.

Since the popularity of our Salt Life stickers hit boom stage, we’ve seen lots of pretty blatant knockoffs by companies and individuals who are not authorized to sell them. And we’ve seen other companies attempt to brand the Salt Life name or a similar name for different purposes. Churches have popped up using the Salt Life name. A brewery is selling Malt Life stickers. An online hunting fraternity calls itself Hunt Life. And University of Florida alumni and other diehard Gator Fans are buying up Swamp Life stickers that look awfully familiar.

Then there’s Pepper Death, the anti-Salt Life. That’s just funny.

But believe us when we say there’s nothing funny about violating trademark and copyright laws. After all, we take our business seriously and we’re not amused when a would-be Salt Life supporter gets tricked by some flea market shyster peddling fake goods. If you’re one of those, know that we have several staff members and law enforcement officials working on our behalf who spend hours seeking out the likes of you, whether you’re selling infringing wares online, in the mall, at the flea market or elsewhere. The Salt Life logo and font is trademarked. We carry first-use-in-commerce trademarks for the Salt Life name and logo on all of our product lines including stickers, clothing, tote bags, jewelry and others, plus the Salt Life Food Shack restaurant and bar.

If you’re a new or returning customer looking for an authentic Salt Life sticker, you can find the real thing on our website and in more than 2,000 authorized Salt Life retailers. If you’re not sure whether a product you spot is for real, or if you spot someone you think is making coin at our expense, please let us know. You can reach our office at 904-241-7258.

Do Spring Break Salt Life-Style with new Beach Apparel, Surfing Clothes and Fishing Clothing

Ah, Spring Break – the perfect excuse to get your shop on and stock your closet and suitcases with new beach apparel, surfing clothes and fishing clothing. Salt Life has all you need to make sure you look hot while you’re trying to stay cool.

Beach apparel sporting our signature Salt Life logo has become a familiar sight among the sands all along the East Coast and beyond. The ladies turn lots of heads in our spaghetti strap tops, tank tops and fitted t-shirts in an array of colors and designs. Our seahorse spaghetti strap top and Aloha palm tree t-shirts are favorites. Our men’s beach apparel includes dozens of T-shirt and board short designs. Little ones are covered too. Kids’ short-sleeve T-shirts and tiny pink or blue onesies with the Salt Life logo get them started early in sporting the salt life look.

Our surfing clothes include t-shirts, board shorts and stylish rash guards for both men and women. They’re made with top-quality materials to holdup against the saltwater, sun and wear-and-tear that a surfboard can dish out. Accessorize your surfing clothes with matching hats, visors and sunglass straps.

Whatever you’re angling for this Spring Break, Salt Life fishing clothing has something that’s sure to hook you. Our sketch and graphic t-shirts feature sailfish, dolphin, redfish, marlin, wahoo, even lobster. Some feature frame-worthy artist’s sketches. Others, like our popular tribal designs, feature graphics with an artistic pop.

Of course, Spring Break means tossing back a few with good friends. Keep your beverage cool with Salt Life koozies for both cans and bottles. Just be sure to designate a driver, whether you’re on land or the water. And if you’re spending Spring Break on the Northeast Florida coast, stop by the new Salt Life Food Shack in Jacksonville Beach to say “hello,” enjoy a  great meal, cold drinks and a good time with friends.

Salt Life Food Shack a splashy concept, and it works

A clothing line adapted to a restaurant and lounge concept? Wow, that’s different. And, this is the reaction Greg Saig, one of the operating partners at the Salt Life Food Shack, told me he’s been getting from people coming in to see what the new Jacksonville Beach restaurant is all about: “Wow! This place is just so different.”

And the scene is much different than other local offerings, from the full-size surfboards that serve as a patio fence to the mounted sailfish spearing the Food Shack’s first dollar. The blue tiling in the bar area, underwater images and beach lounge-style dining chairs all come together to make things very seaworthy.

Saig, along with partners (brother) Louis Saig, Tom Rady and Jeff Jabot, began licensing talks about a year ago with Salt Life, a Jacksonville Beach-born lifestyle outfitter for fishermen, surfers, divers and water-lovers in general. The concept was to create a dining and lounge experience that would appeal to the Salt Life family.

An intense five-month remodeling cast away all mementos of Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grille, which used to occupy the space. The new setup makes good use of the patio and community tables within the restaurant to foster a gathering spirit. Community bulletin boards dot the Shack (which is an understatement for the eye-catching space) where patrons are encouraged to hang their fishing, surfing, diving and related water sport photos. The Shack also made it a priority to support local businesses during the remodeling, and it procures much, if not most, of its fish and shrimp from Mayport. Whether you like your seafood fried, grilled, Low-Country boiled or served in sushi or seviche style, there is a menu offering for you. Prices are a day at the beach, with most meals under $15 and plenty under $10.

Weekly “get-togethers,” as Saig calls them, are already in place to help build a sandy-footed community spirit. The Shack offers happy hour drink discounts seven nights a week, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again from 10 p.m. until closing time. Wednesdays are a great night to visit, as 2 percent of sales go to benefit Never Quit, a foundation aimed at teaching people ways of preventing stroke and heart disease, headed by local professional surfer Karina Petroni (NeverQuitNever.com). Flip-flop Fridays showcase island-style appetizers and happy hour all night, and Backyard Sundays are sure to make their mark on the beach social scene as the weather warms; there’s a market there for $8.99 beer can chicken and $2 PBR, I assure you. And here’s a challenge to keep the fisherman motivated: If anyone beats partner Tom Rady’s 55.2-pound kingfish record, he or she is the lucky recipient of a $500 bar tab. So, keep your eyes on the salty prize.
